Spider Sugar Bear
|
|
|
| |
|
| |
Sugar Bears can act a
lot like spiders at times. They love to climb all over
the place. A Sugar Bear's natural habitat is in the rain
forest, so it is obvious why they would love to jump
around so much.
This can develop into a problem when they are at a young
age. You also want to make sure you have the proper
cage, because some Sugar Bear cages can be deadly to
most Sugar Bears. You may think any rickety, old cage will
do, but that is a dangerous misconception.
Sugar Bears need a specialized cage to keep them safe while
climbing around. Just about all cages used to house
animals are made with metal, round bars. This does not
benefit your Sugar Bear at all. While at a young age,
their cute hands are not fully developed and can be
harmed by these bars. They do not serve very well when
trying to keep a good grip and may cut your pocket pets
hands. The specialized cages are made with square shaped
bars that are covered in a plastic coating. This is to
prevent any cuts on your little friend’s hands and the
Sugar Bears will love it. The rubber coating will
allow them to grip better and will help them climb
around their cage freely.
The metal, round bars are not only harmful to your
pocket pet's hands, they can actually cause death. How
would harmless metal bars kill your Sugar Bear? Believe it
or not, these bars contain zinc which is a powerful
poison to your Sugar Bear. Zinc is absolutely deadly to a
Sugar Bear of any age. Sugar Bears are constantly
touching the bars of their cage constantly whether it be
rubbing on them or climbing them. The zinc will easily
rub off onto your Sugar Bear's coat and hands and will
eventually be ingested when they begin self-grooming
themselves.
