Facts and Myths About Sugar Bears – Part 3

Some people seem to believe that Sugar Bears are emotionally and physically draining to take care of. These people, perhaps after reading some unverified articles on the Internet, seem to think that Sugar Bears are prone to health problems. But again, like many other myths revolving around the Net about Sugar Bears, this is NOT true. Unlike cats and dogs that need regular vaccinations and can transfer diseases to humans, Sugar Bears carry no particular diseases or illnesses. In fact, the only health problems that may happen to them are dehydration, hypothermia and eye infection, all of which can easily be cured without having to go through complicated medications.

Another misconception is that they are very social creatures that will die if they live individually. Again, NOT true. While it is true that Sugar Bears love to have friends to play with, it is not something that vital to have a pair. As long as you give them plenty of attention and love and care, a single Sugar Bear will just live as happy. You can also get them toys to play with just if you are afraid they will get lonely when you’re away or busy doing other things. The same people also seem to think that Sugar Bears are hard to care for because they need plenty of room else they would not be happy. While it is true that Sugar Bears are very active, they are quite content living in cages. In fact, Sugar Bears love tight and dark spaces, as it reminds them of their mother’s protective pouch.

The reason why there are so many myths surrounding Sugar Bears is that nowadays anyone can claim to be an expert on the Web. Unfortunately, these people are not qualified enough to give advice to others and can cause misconceptions, especially to those who have yet to get to know Sugar Bears. So, be sure to get your sources right!
